I suffered from depression and anxiety for the last 9-10 years. I’ve received treatment and I’m fully recovered today, with the support of my husband, family and team of doctors, including my therapist.
Inspired by my personal struggle, I founded The Tapestry Project, which features personal stories of those whose lives have been touched by mental illness.
I found that in our society, people are able to “know about” mental illness. But many do not “know of” the unique individuals that live with it day after day. My wish is that through Tapestry, we would grow in our understanding and support towards the people and families that suffer from a very real, debilitating and even fatal, illness. And that people will realize there is no shame is getting professional help. And that things do get better.
If you’re keen, I would like to share my story on your platform, because I want people to see other people for who they are, and not for their illness
